#23 Terps and #11 Tigers Tangle Friday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 23 Maryland gymnastics team travels to No. 11 Auburn to take on the Tigers at 7 p.m. Friday.
The Tigers are the first ranked team the Terps have faced since tying then-No. 22 NC State on Jan. 11. Maryland has been ranked and atop the EAGL since that meet.
The Terps (12-1-1, 8-1-1 EAGL) are coming off their third straight meet win after downing Bridgeport, George Washington and Pittsburgh with a 195.600 on Friday.
Junior Katy Dodds won event titles on vault and floor, scoring 9.925s on each apparatus. Senior Ally Krikorian, ranked 21st on vault and 11th on floor, earned EAGL Specialist of the Week honors after posting a 9.900 on vault and a 9.925 on floor.
Dodds, Krikorian and sophomore Stephanie Giameo have anchored the team throughout the season. All three are ranked nationally in at least one event and have earned EAGL honors for their work.The Terps and Tigers last met in 2010, with Auburn taking the win in a quad-meet with George Washington and Yale. Maryland placed second at the meet.

Scouting the Tigers
Auburn (3-7, 3-4 SEC) pulled off an upset in its last meet defeating No. 5 LSU with a program-record 197.175. The Tigers were down going into the last rotation, but earned 49.450 to seal the win. No Auburn gymnast scored less than a 9.850 on floor, and Bri Guy, ranked 18th nationally on the apparatus, scored a season-high 9.925.Caitlin Atkinson won the all-around with a 39.550, earning SEC Gymnast of the Week honors. Atkinson ranks 12th nationally in the all-around.
