Ally Krikorian wins all-around silver as Maryland improves to 3-2

As a Sophomore (2012): Competed on bars in all 13 meets...finished 17th on bars at the NCAA Fayetteville Regional...tallied a career-high 9.775 on bars against Alaska-Anchorage and Bridgeport (1/20)...named to the EAGL All-Academic team for the second time...scored a 9.800 or higher on bars in eight meets...received the Most Improved Award at the team banquet.

As a Freshman (2011): Did not compete...recipient of the Positive Mental Attitude Award.

Before Maryland: Competed at TRC Gymnastics in Solana Beach, Calif., for 14 years...member of Level 9 Western National Championship team in 2009...qualified for Level 10 regionals in 2009 and 2010...member of National Honor Society and recipient of Outstanding Academic Achievement Award in 2007-2010.

Personal: Jessie Helen Black...daughter of Buddy and Nanette Black...has one sister, Jamie...father, Buddy, is manager of the San Diego Padres...came back from a fractured spine to continue to compete...came to Maryland because she loved the team, coaches and the campus...also recruited by California, Alaska, Penn and Yale...always has a lucky hair tie on her wrist when she competes.
