Terp Trio Named to All-ACC Academic Team

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Kelly MacWhinnie, Kelly Calkin and Katie Trotter of the University of Maryland were recently named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team for women's golf.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade-point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during their academic career.

MacWhinnie, a junior from Pittsburgh, Pa., is majoring in communications at Maryland. She posted her career-best 18-hole score of 72 in the opening round of the Terps' first-ever appearance at the NCAA East Regional.

Calkin, a sophomore from St. Charles, Ill., posted two top-10 finishes in the spring season and is majoring in education.

A sophomore from Pittsburgh, Pa., Trotter is part of the College of Letters and Sciences at Maryland. She had the Terps' lowest scoring average during six spring season events at 76.5.
