Terps End Regular Season in Oxford

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's golf team will complete its regular season this weekend at the Rebel Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Mississippi. The 54-hole tournament will begin Friday, April 6 and conclude Sunday, April 8 at the par-72, 6,313-yard Old Miss Golf Course.
The Rebel Intercollegiate is the final event before the Terps head to the ACC Championships at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., April 13-15.
Senior Jessica Hollandsworth led the team with a 54-hole year-low 218 to tie for sixth, which was her best finish of the season. Sophomore Emily Gimpel earned her second top-10 finish of the season with a 221 to tie for eighth. Junior Christine Shimel and freshman Juliet Vongphoumy tied for 13th.
Vongphoumy continues to lead the Terps in scoring. The Providence, R.I., native is third in the ACC with a 73.48 average. Shimel is ninth in the conference averaging 74.35 per 18 holes, while Hollandsworth is 13th with a 74.70 average.
Freshman Jessica Uem is scheduled to make her collegiate debut at the Rebel Intercollegiate.
The 15-team field includes two ACC teams, Miami and the Terps. The field includes three top-50 teams in Baylor, Mississippi and Tulsa, and is rounded out by Harvard, Kansas State, Memphis, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri, Murray State, Redlands, Rollins College and Southern Mississippi.
