Jessica Hollandsworth shot a 1-under-par 71 in Tuesday's final round of the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate women's golf tournament to finish in a tie for 17th individually with a 54-hole total of 228.
Hollandsworth, a Terrapin freshman from Floyd, Va., was one of only three players under par in Tuesday's final round. She moved up 31 spots on the leader board to earn another top-20 finish individually in her first season as a collegiate player.
As a team, Maryland finished in 17th place with a three-day total of 950. Georgia State won the team competition with an 882 total, besting East Carolina (899) and Miami (913).
Also for Maryland, Hilary Lawson and Lara Peffley each tied for 58th with scores of 238, Lauren Varnas finished at 246 and Kerri Connolly scored a 253 total.
Iliska Verwey of Georgia State earned the individual victory, finishing at 3-over-par 216. Belen Buendia of Florida International was second, one shot back. Chelsea Curtis of Georgetown shot a 68 for the best round of the day and move up to third at 220, tying with Abby Bools of East Carolina.
The Terrapins close their fall season on Oct. 27 and 28 at the Edwin Watts / Palmetto Intercollegiate at Kiawah Island, S.C.
