Sophomore Fires 76 at ACC Women's Golf

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Sophomore Jessica Reno shot a 76 on Saturday to move up nine places on the leaderboard and highlight University of Maryland performances at the Atlantic Coast Conference women's golf tournament being held at the Carmel Country Club.
Reno went out in 37 and birdied the 18th hole to finish her round at 4-over-par. She started the day in a tie for 22nd, but her 36-hole total of 158 moved her into a tie for 13th place.
As a team, Maryland fired a 322 on Saturday to post a two-day total of 659. The Terps are in eighth place heading into the final round, but picked up five shots on North Carolina to open Sunday's play only six shots out of seventh place.
Also for the Terps, Kate Stepanek shot an 81 for a 36-hole total of 164 and 27th place individually. Freshman Kelly Calkin also shot an 81 and is tied for 30th at 167 after two rounds. Sophomore Kelly MacWhinnie is 37th at 170 after improving to an 84 on Saturday, while Katie Trotter is 39th with a 36-hole total of 179.
Perennial champion Duke holds a commanding 34-stroke lead over Wake Forest in the team standings. The Blue Devils shot 291 on Saturday for a two-day total of 594.
Elizabeth Janangelo shot a 72 and Anna Grzebien had a 74 to put two Blue Devils atop the individual leaderboard at 4-over-par 148. A pair of Blue Devils - Niloufar Aazam-Zanganeh and Brittany Lang - are also tied for third, one stroke behind.
