Hollandsworth Eighth After One Round at Rebel

OXFORD, Miss. - Senior Jessica Hollandsworth fired a 2-over 74 Friday to pace the Maryland women's golf team in the opening round of the Rebel Intercollegiate at Old Miss Golf Course. The Terps, who are seeking back-to-back tournament championships for the second time this year, are in 11th place after shooting a 308 in the first round. Hollandsworth is tied for eighth.
Hollandsworth picked up where she left off at the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate. The Floyd, Va., native's 74 in the first round is two shots shy of her season low.
Freshman Juliet Vongphoumy, who is ranked third in scoring in the ACC and leads all freshmen, carded a 4-over 76 and is tied for 28th. Vongphoumy is looking to extend her streak of top-20 finishes to eight this weekend.
No. 18 Baylor and Mississippi are tied for first with a 4-over 292. Ole Miss' Natalie Gleadall leads Baylor's Jaclyn Jansen by one stroke entering the second round with a 3-under 69.
The highlight of the round came on No. 3, where Memphis' Alex Alang scored a hole-in-one.
