Spring 2009: Finished third on the team with a scoring average of 80.8 in five events...83 percent of rounds played counted toward team score...posted second-best score on the team at Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic, shooting 29-over par...tied for 45th place at Canes & Cardinal Classic...season-best 28th-place finish at Atlantic Coast Conference Championship.
Fall 2008: Finished with a scoring average of 80.6 in three events...played as an individual at the Spider Fall Invitational, finishing in a tie for 42nd place at 18-over par...tied for 37th place at the Palmetto Intercollegiate, opening with a 1-under 71 in the first round, her low round for the season.
Spring 2008: Played in three of five events as a true freshman for Maryland... earned an 80.6 scoring average in eight rounds...best finish was T-37 when she was in the lineup at the Palmetto Intercollegiate...shot an opening-round 71, her low 18-hole score of the semester...also in lineup at the Badger Invitational (80-82-84--246, 61st)...score counted toward team total in three of six rounds she appeared in the lineup...was T-42nd as an individual at the Spider Fall Invitational.
Before Maryland: Graduated from Unionville HS in Kennett Square, Pa....finished T-5th at the 2007 Pennsylvania State high school tournament (76-75--151)...ranked third in Pennsylvania junior girls ratings by Golfweek...Third Team All-American on the FCWT in Summer 2007...won the FCWT Fair Oaks title and was third at the 2006 Virginia Beach Championship...Fourth at the AJGA CourseMax Philadelphia Runner Championship...also attended Lincoln (Neb.) Southwest HS...won the Nebraska Girls State Junior Amateur in 2006, winning he event by one stroke after making a 10-foot birdie putt....earned the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award with a 4.3 GPA, finishing at the top of her class...earned AP Scholar Distinguished Honors.
Personal: Parents are Michael and Shelia Holmes...has a younger brother, Miles...hopes to major in English and minor in philosophy... interested in becoming a lawyer and possibly a writer...nickname is "Lex"...if she could play another sport for Maryland, would be interested in track and field...came to Maryland for Honors Program, to play for Coach Rodenhaver, for the big school and to experience the Washington, D.C., area...enjoys fitness, music and movies...chose Maryland over Penn State, Columbia, Xavier, Minnesota and Georgetown.
