CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Maxine Fluharty, Katie Gerzabek, Ali McEvoy and Jill Witmer were all selected to compete in England this spring with the U.S. Under-21 team. They depart March 31 and will play four test matches against England's Under-21 team.
Members of the Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 teams participated in training sessions this month at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.
"The approaching opportunities will provide further chances to develop the understanding of the preferred playing structures with a view to gelling our premium group later in the year at the Junior Pan American Championships and then shortly thereafter at the Junior World Cup," said Nick Conway, assistant coach for the women's national team.
McEvoy recently traveled to Scotland with the U.S. National Indoor squad.
All four have strong international backgrounds. All have years of experience in the U.S. High Performance system and have won numerous titles around the world.
