Maryland Falls to North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Maryland lost to North Carolina 3-2 in double overtime in the semi-finals of the 1997 ACC Field Hockey Tournament. Tar Heel senior Cindy Werley scored the game winner with 12:19 remaining in the second 15 minute sudden-death overtime.

Maryland is 18-3 this season. On Wednesday, the NCAA Tournament field will be announced. Depending on the ranking, the Terps will next play on Saturday or Sunday.
