#3 Maryland Rolls Past Princeton, 6-2

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The third-ranked Maryland field hockey team (9-1) dominated Princeton, 6-2, Tuesday night at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. Five different Terrapins scored as 19 Maryland players saw action in the game.
Six minutes later, freshman Katie Gerzabek scored Maryland's third goal with a hard shot from the top of the circle. Buckley notched the fourth goal off of a rebounded shot by Witmer in the 27th minute.
The Tigers (3-5) got on the board just after halftime. Amanda Bird scored off of a penalty corner setup in the 38th minute.
Maryland added two more goals in the second half. After Princeton scored, sophomore Jill Witmer added a fifth Terrapins goal with a reverse shot off of her own rebound in the 46th minute.
In the 53rd minute, McEvoy added a goal after a three-pass play on a corner setup to make it 6-1 Terps. Princeton's Allison Evans added the Tigers' second goal with less than three minutes remaining.
Maryland outshot Princeton, 15-13, while the Tigers had nine corners to the Terps' six. Sophomore goalkeeper Natalie Hunter notched four saves, while starting Princeton keeper Christina Maida had one. Princeton subbed goalkeepers in the first half, and Julia Boyle had three saves.
Maryland will play host to ACC opponent Virginia (5-5, 0-1 ACC) Friday at 5 p.m. at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. Admission is free, but fans can only park for free in the lots surrounding the Complex AFTER 4 p.m. Anyone parking in the lots prior to 4 p.m. may be ticketed.
