As a junior in 2008:
Named to the Longstreth/NFHCA All-Mid Atlantic Region First Team...started all 24 games for the Terps in the midfield, scoring four goals and contributing to a dominant defense with ranked second in the country in goals allowed per game during the regular season...scored a career-best two goals in the season-opening 5-0 victory at Lock Haven (Aug. 31)...posted two game-winning goals on the year versus Old Dominion (Sept. 5) and Penn (Oct. 12)...dished out two assists in the 10-0 drubbing of VCU on Oct. 30...assisted on the only goal of the game in the Terps' 1-0 victory at Penn State on Sept. 1...also recorded an assist in the 7-0 victory over No. 5 North Carolina on Oct. 25...named to the Academic All-ACC squad and the NFHCA National Academic Squad.
As a sophomore in 2007:
An NFHCA Mid-Atlantic Regional selection, earning a spot on the second team...it was the first regional honor of her career ...posted a career-high three points at Northwestern (Aug. 27)...notched a goal in the next game at Old Dominion (Aug. 31)...third goal of the season was in the 4-0 rout of ACC foe and 19th-ranked Virginia (Sept. 29)...in the following game, assisted on the game winner against Temple (Sept. 30)...was named to the All-ACC Academic team after starting in all 21 games in the midfield, while maintaining excellence in the classroom.
As a freshman in 2006:
Played in every game, starting in all but three...the second-highest scoring freshman on the team, behind team goal-leader Nicole Muracco...scored her first-career goal against Delaware (Sept. 13)...also had goals in ACC games at No. 2 Wake Forest (Sept. 23) and at No. 8 Virginia (Sept. 29), notching the game winner against the Cavs...her only assist of the season was in the 4-1 win at Princeton (Oct. 10)...had the game-winning goal in the 4-0 rout of No. 17 Richmond...tied the score at 1-1 early in the second half of the NCAA Tournament semifinal game vs. No. 7 Connecticut, eventually forcing penalty strokes, to help Maryland advance to the NCAA Championship game (Nov. 16)...an Academic All-ACC selection, for her performance on the field and in the classroom.
Before Maryland:
Named to the Holland Under-18 National Team...member of the Zuid-Holland Under-18 district squad in 2004-05, after spending two seasons on the Under-16 team...Under-16 Dutch National Team won a gold medal at the European Championship...captained the Under-14 team to a district championship in 2001-02...won back-to-back golds in the National Indoor Championship on the Under-16 squad, going undefeated in 2003-04...also placed second in the outdoor national tournament in 2002-03 and 2003-04...Under-18 team placed fourth in the national indoor tournament in 2004-05 and 2005-06...attended Wolfert van Borselen secondary school.
Personal:
Majoring in finance...one of five children of Rosalie and Robert Rischen...has three older sisters, Robine (26), Berber (24) and Lotte (22) and also has a younger brother, Quintus (16)...older sister Berber is a graduate student at the Smith School of Business and was a member of the 2006 National Championship team...Ameliet Rischen was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
