Before Maryland: Graduated from Damascus High School in Damascus, Md....in 2004...lettered four years in Poms...competed with United Spirit Cheerleading since 1999...Pom team won state championship in 2003...three-year class president, newspaper managing editor, and member of the National Honors Society.
Personal: Laura Chiriaco...born in Gaithersburg, Md....daughter of Lisa and Vincent Chiriaco...has an older brother, Daniel...enjoys dancing, writing, and spending time with friends...choose Maryland for its renowned school of journalism and because it is the only university which has declared cheerleading a sport...majoring in journalism.
