Terps Score No. 4 Seed in ACC Tournament

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The 15th-ranked Maryland women's basketball team earned the No. 4 seed in this weekend's ACC Women's Basketball Tournament to be played at the Greensboro Coliseum. After earning a first-round bye, Maryland (23-6, 9-5) will play its opening game on Friday at 11 a.m. in the quarterfinal round against the winner of Thursday's 11 a.m. game between No. 5 Georgia Tech (21-9, 9-5) and No. 12 Virginia Tech (11-18, 1-13). Friday's game will be televised on RSN and Fox Sports Net HD. Please click here to find where to watch. Maryland has earned a first round bye in five of the last six years. A win in the quarterfinals would send the Terrapins to the 1:00 p.m. semifinal on Saturday against either 1st-seeded Duke (26-3, 12-3), 8th-seeded Virginia (16-14, 5-9) or 9th-seeded Wake Forest (16-14, 5-9). Against the Yellow Jackets, junior Kim Rodgers hit a buzzer beater-beater for the 56-53 Terps win in Atlanta on Feb. 3. The Terrapins beat Virginia Tech 61-48 Feb. 24 in College Park. Maryland advanced to the quarterfinals of last year's ACC Tournament as the No. 9 seed. The Terps beat 8-seeded North Carolina 83-77 in the first round, then fell to top-seeded Duke 66-64 in the quarterfinals.
