#8 Maryland Treks to Boston College Thursday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The eighth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (21-4, 12-2 ACC) will trek to Boston College (10-14, 4-9) this week for a 7 p.m. game in Chestnut Hill on Thursday.
The Terps-Eagles game will be broadcast on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network and can be heard on 1300 AM and 570 AM, as well as UMTerps.com for a fee. It will be shown live online for a fee on BCEagles.com.
The Terrapins won their first matchup this year, 85-62, on Feb. 3 in College Park. Tianna Hawkins and Alyssa Thomas combined for 50 points and Alicia DeVaughn, Malina Howard and Katie Rutan hit double figures as well.
Maryland owns the series, 13-2, and has won four straight meetings.
Thomas had 27 points and 13 rebounds as No. 7 Maryland used a 26-3 run to handle border rival Virginia 73-44 on Sunday in Charlottesville. DeVaughn added 14 points, Howard scored 12 and Rutan added 11 points for Maryland, which took over sole possession of second in the ACC with the win.
Hawkins needs just four rebounds to break the 1,000-rebound mark. Crystal Langhorne and Marissa Coleman are the only Terrapins ever to reach the 1,000-rebound plateau. Just one men's player, Len Elmore, has reached the mark.
After Thursday's game, Maryland will return home to host a rematch with No. 5 Duke (24-1, 14-0) on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. in Comcast Center.

The There Goes My Hero foundation, which is based out of Bel Air, Md., works to expand the bone marrow donor registry and find matches for all those diagnosed with leukemia through many support programs. At the Team Tyler game, the There Goes My Hero foundation will be on the 300 level concourse, behind sections 207 and 208, prior to the game to register donors.
