Maryland Women Outlast Hampton 65-57

COLLEGE PARK, MD-- Maryland forward Kalisa Davis scored a career-high 25 points and frontcourt mate Stephanie Cross pulled down a career-high 19 rebounds as the Maryland Terrapins defeated the Hampton Lady Pirates, 65-57, at Cole Field House Thursday night.

The Terps improved to 4-2 (1-0 ACC), while the Pirates fell to 2-3 (0-0 MEAC). Tonight's meeting was the first-ever between the two schools.

The score was tied at 32 at half-time and remained close throughout most of the second half, but the Terps kept going to Davis, who responded with 14 of her game-high 25 points in the second half. Hampton cut the Terps' lead to 56-53 with 2:08 remaining, but Davis responded with six points in the last two minutes to seal the victory and give Maryland a season-high four-game winning streak.

The Terps put their four-game winning streak on the line on Sunday, Dec. 7th, at 7 p.m. when the Penn State Lady Lions come to Cole Field House.
