Women's Basketball Advances to Tournament Final

WORCESTER, MA- Maryland raced to an early 16-7 lead and held off a late Harvard scoring surge as the Terrapin women's basketball team won 81-61 Saturday night. With the win, Maryland not only evens its record to 2-2, but also earns a spot in Sunday's championship game of the ECAC Holiday Women's Basketball Festival.

The Terps, led by Sonia Chase's 25 points, exploded in the second half to push their lead to as high as 21 points during the game. Also making a mark for Maryland was Stephanie Cross who added 21 points for the Terps and cleared 12 boards. For Harvard, Allison Feaster scored a game-high 28 points in addition to grabbing 13 boards.

The Terrapins will next face Holy Cross on Sunday in the championship game at 3:30 p.m. at the Hart Recreation Center. Harvard and Mount Saint Mary's will square off at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow in the consolation game.
