About SAAC Mission Statement:
The mission of The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) is to enhance the total student athlete experience by developing student athlete leadership skills, promoting student athlete welfare, and fostering a positive student athlete image on the Maryland campus, local area and in the nation.
Purpose a. Support and encourage candid communication between the University of Maryland student athletes and the athletics department administration regarding topics which relate to student athlete welfare.
b. Assess and advise on the needs for expanded education for student athletes on various topics (e.g. leadership training, career planning, and NCAA legislation).
c. Encourage teams to support all other teams through attendance at competitions, et al.
d.
Explore and encourage development of community outreach programs.
e. Share S.A.A.C. meeting information with teammates and coaches after each meeting in a timely manner and solicit feedback when appropriate.
f. Abide by all established University policies and regulations governing student organizations and their welfare.
