The goal of SWCD LifeSkills programing is to provide Maryland student-athletes with educational opportunities to enhance both academic and athletic experiences while offering a more holistic approach to developing the best student-athlete experience possible. Current trends and issues will be examined as found on the Maryland campus, in the local community, in collegiate athletics, and nationally. Terrapin student-athletes will also have some influence on programming by way of periodically completing needs assessment surveys throughout the academic year. Programming will focus on, but not limited to, such topics as personal and social development, leadership, financial literacy, diversity and inclusion, and health and wellness.
The overarching mission of LifeSkills programming is to provide Maryland student-athletes with a well-rounded experience leading to a quality education while best preparing them to serve as leaders in the local, state, and global communities.
