Men Close Out Season At IC4A/ECAC Meet

A depleted Maryland cross country team placed 20th at the IC4A/ECAC meet at Saturday in Bronx, N.Y.

The Terps were without the full services of two of their top five runners, junior Matt Sanders and freshman Jake Travers. Bothered by heel problems, Sanders did not race, ending his season one competition early. Calf and lower leg issues that had hampered Travers all week persisted until race time, forcing him to sit out. For an already-thin Terp lineup, the losses were too significant to withstand.

For the seventh consecutive race, freshman Tyler McCandless led Maryland, finishing 60th overall, finishing the five-mile run in 26:10.90. He was followed by Zach Martinez, Josh Davis, Pat Reaves and Dan Ryan.
