Terps Place Fifth at Tribe Invitational

Williamsburg, Va. - The University of Maryland men's cross country team placed fifth overall at the Tribe Invitational in Williamsburg, Va today.

Peter Hess ran a 25:21:90 in the 8K race, and finished 21st to lead the Terps. Teammates Greg Kelsey (25:32:00) and Ben Diestel (25:39:70) followed Hess, placing 30th and 35th respectively.

Christo Landry of William & Mary placed first at the meet, leading his team to a first place finish with 30 points. Georgetown placed second with 46 points and LaSalle finished third with 77 points. Virginia Tech came in 4th with 91 points, followed by the Terps with 157 points.

The Terrapin men return to action October 14 at the Chile Pepper Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
