Taylor Earns Fields Award

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland wrestling team will compete in the Body Bar Invitational on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. Saturday, a year after finishing third in the same event.

Maryland (1-2-1) will face plenty of tough competition, as other programs competing include: No. 13 Boise State, No. 25 Kent State, No. 4 Cornell, Army, Buffalo, Drexel, Ithaca, Millersville and Sacred Heart.

"This weekend's going to be a really tough test four our guys," Maryland head coach Kerry McCoy said. "Boise State and Cornell are two of the best programs out there right now. They have a lot of ranked guys, individually. The other schools are all tough, too. This will be a good chance to see a wide variety of competition and a lot of nationally-ranked wrestlers. It's an exciting opportunity to take another step toward some of our season goals."

The competition begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at Cornell's Newman Arena. Takedown Radio will broadcast the event.

Terrapin wrestlers scheduled to compete include: Brendan Byrne, Lou Ruland, Will Sharbaugh, No. 10 Steven Bell, Mookie Golden, No. 15 Alex Krom, Dex Lederer, Steve Fehnel, Kyle John, Matt MacLean, Brian Letters, Mike McGill, Corey Peltier, Patrick Klenkel, Ryan Gray, Chris Lloyd, Tommy Sitar and Patrick Gilmore.
