OKLAHOMA CITY -
Maryland sophomore Andrew Schlaffer's season ended today with a loss to Penn's Matt Dragon in the consolation bracket of the NCAA Wrestling Tournament in Oklahoma City. He finishes the season with a 25-14 record.
Dragon picked up a 14-4 over Schlaffer on Friday. On Thursday, Schlaffer gave second-seeded Tyler Eustice of Iowa all he could handle in his first bout. Schlaffer trailed by only a point late in the third period, but Eustice managed to register a late take down to secure the 5-3 victory. He bounced back in his second match of the day, handily defeating Hurley 10-3, before bowing out to Dragon.
