For George Mason, junior Chris Mansueto began the dual meet with a hard fought 2-1 decision over Joe Guzzio at 118 pounds. Neil Johnson and Brad Ginn were the only other Patriot victories.
With the score at 18-9, Maryland surged forward with wins by Garrison, junior Don Kukan (Kent County High School/Massey, MD) and a pinfall by senior heavyweight Dave Carter (Sherwood High School/Gaithersburg, MD) at 2:12.
