Terp Wrestlers Slip by Old Dominion

NORFOLK, VA - The University of Maryland wrestling team defeated Old Dominion in a close 17-16 dual meet. Going into the heavyweight match, the Terps were down by two points, but senior Dave Carter (Sherwood/Gaithersburg, MD) pulled off a 15-11 victory leading Maryland to the one point victory.

Other winners for the Terps include freshman Mark Mansueto (West Chester East/West Chester. PA), junior Ted Harlan (Haverford School/Glenmoore, PA), and senior co-captains Shane Mack (Ithaca/Ithaca, NY) and Craig Garrison (Pompton Lakes/Pompton Lakes, PA). The Terrapins' third captain, Jeff Whalen (Cedar Cliff/Camp Hill, PA), lost 12-5 to Mark Strickland , who is ranked #6 in the nation.
