Before Maryland: Three-year letterwinner at Seton Hall Prep and served as team captain his senior season while compiling a 31-6 record...won the NJISSA District 17 title and placed at regionals...two-time member of the Super Essex All-Conference team. Personal: Son of Charles and Carla Schaafsma...has an older sister, Jena, and a younger brother, Troy...graduated Seton Hall Prep with a 3.6 GPA...plans to major in government & politics...chose Maryland over George Mason.
