The Atlantic Coast Conference
Consistency is the mark of true excellence, and wrestling has played a key role in the Atlantic Coast Conference’s tradition of excellence. ACC schools have registered 13 top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championship, with Maryland’s 10th-place finish in 2009 the most recent.
Quick facts on the ACC:
- The Terrapins lead all schools with 22 conference championships, including two of the past three.
- Four ACC teams finished the 2010 season ranked in the top 25, with Maryland leading the way at No. 10.
- Five ACC wrestlers earned All-American status. Maryland was the only school with multiple All-Americans (Hudson Taylor and Steve Bell).
- All six ACC schools had individual qualifiers for the 2010 NCAA Championships.
