"Guzzler" Finishes Fifth At NCAAs

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Terrapin senior 134-pounder James "The Guzzler" Guzzio finished in fifth place this afternoon at the NCAA Wrestling Championships. He defeated Joey Heckel of Arizona State, 7-6 to take fifth place. Earlier theis afternoon, Guzzio lost to Yero Washington of Fresno State by a score of 10-8 in overtime.

Guzzio finishes the season with a 39-2 record. He set a school record for most consecutive wins with 38.

By advancing to the semifinals, Guzzio automatically qualified to be an All-American. He is the first Maryland All-American since David Land in 1992.
