Maryland Takes Down Rutgers And Coppin

The Maryland wrestling team moved to 8-2 with wins over Rutgers and Coppin State Saturday and All-America candidate James Guzzio notched two more wins.

Maryland beat Rutgers 20-14 in its first match of the day. The Terps (1-1 ACC) led 17-15 with only the heavyweight bout remaining, but Maryland's Dave Vernier beat John Shutte 2-1 after reveiving a point for stalling with only seconds remaining.

The Eagles lost to Maryland in the final match of the day, 36-3.

Guzzio beat Rutgers' Jon Forster 12-0, and Coppin State's Sidney Billups 12-7.
