Maryland Wrestling Announces 1997 Signees

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland wrestling team, coming off a 29th-place finish at the NCAA Championships named their recruiting class Wednesday. Coach John McHugh has signed five wrestlers to the program

Joseph Guzzio (Greensboro, N.C.; Grimsley High School) is the brother of Maryland senior James Guzzio who, in 1996 became Maryland's first All-American since 1992. Guzzio is currently slated to wrestle at 118 pounds.

Mark Mansueto comes from Westchester East High School in Westchester, Pa. and will wrestle at 126 pounds.

Chad Masemer comes to Maryland from Littlestown High School in Littlestown, Pa. He will wrestle at 167 pounds.

From the "Chocolate Capital of the World," Hershey, Pa., and Hershey High School is Josh Weidman. He will wrestle at 126 pounds.

Brandon York is the lone in-state recruit, coming from Damascus High School. He will wrestle at either 118 or 126 pounds.
