Maryland Men's Tennis Closes Out Fall Season at Tribe Invitational

Nov. 7, 2008

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland men's tennis team will close out their fall season in the Tribe Invitational this weekend in Williamsburg, Va. This is the third time that the Terps are competing at the event, which is now in its third year of existence.

The Terps will face Notre Dame, the College of Charleston and host William & Mary during the three day competition. Notre Dame finished the 2007-08 season ranked No. 29 in the country on their way to a birth in the NCAA Tournament, while William & Mary finished the season ranked No. 67.

Maryland's No. 6-ranked doubles team of Andrew Orban and Boris Fetbroyt holds the highest ranking among the competitors, which include the No. 25-ranked singles player, Brett Helgeson of Notre Dame, and the No. 124-ranked singles player, Keziel Juneau of William & Mary.

The Terps dominated at doubles during last year's event, posting a combined record of 10-2 over the three day span.

The Tribe Invitational marks the end of Maryland's fall season, with the Terps' next action coming Jan. 25, when the team goes on the road to face Louisville in Louisville, Ky.
