Maryland Men's Tennis Rolls By Navy
Feb. 6, 2009 ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Maryland men's tennis team was able to build off last weekend's shutout of Georgetown by posting a 6-1 victory Friday afternoon over in-state rival Navy. The Terps (2-1), who dealt the Midshipmen (4-1) their first loss of the season, picked up wins in five of the six singles matches and claimed the doubles point behind the nationally-ranked tandem of Boris Fetbroyt and Andrew Orban. Fetbroyt and Orban, ranked No. 35 in the country, knocked off Nate Nelms and Johnny Waters, 8-4 at the No. 1 position. Fetbroyt also won at No. 5 singles, downing Ramsey Lemaich 7-6 (7-5), 6-4. David Kwon, Nickolai Nielsen, Mathias Sarrazin and and Roshan Potarazu also scored the other singles wins, all in straight sets, for the Terps who are No. 74 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings. Kwon's 6-3, 6-3 win over Marcus Rebersak at No. 2 singles clinched the team victory. Maryland is back in action Sunday when it opens Atlantic Coast Conference play at Virginia.
