Mar. 8, 1997 Terrapins Men's Tennis Falls to DukeDURHAM, N.C. --The 18th-ranked Duke men's tennis team kicked off its ACC season with a 7-0 shutout of Maryland on Saturday at the Duke Tennis Stadium. The win betters the Blue Devils' record to 5-3 on the season and 1-0 in the ACC, while Maryland falls to 4-3 overall and 0-2 in league play. Duke quickly won at all three doubles positions and at all six singles in just two sets, led by freshman Doug Root.
