Feb. 15, 1997 Men's Tennis Beats HoyasCOLLEGE PARK, Md. - The men's tennis team won its home opener today, beating local rival Georgetown University this afternoon, by a score of 4-2. The team improves its record to 2-2 overall as they prepare to begin their ACC season on March 1. Georgetown is still looking for their first victory as they fall to 0-6. Single winners for Maryland include Dale Cathell, Thomas John Klier and Karim Emara. Double's teams of Cathell and Collin Parker, and Klier and Jay Kimmel also won for the Terrapins. The next Terp match is versus George Mason next Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Tennis Bubble at 1 p.m. Match Results Singles No. 1: Dale Cathell (MD) d. Chris DiCarlo (GU), 6-2, 6-3.
