Cullen Named ACC Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland senior Eric Cullen has been tabbed the Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week as announced Tuesday by the league office. It is Cullen's first career honor.

Cullen, a native of Severn, Maryland, swam in four events in the final dual meet of 2008 for the Terps. The meet was held in Navy's Lejune Hall 25-meter pool. He continued his prominence in the breastroke events, winning the 100 breaststroke (1:03.15) and placing second in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.33). He also finished second in the 200 IM (2:11.13) and 200 medley relay (1:44.21).

The Terrapins return to Eppley Recreation Natatorium with a quad meet against Villanova, Pittsburgh and Penn State on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 16-17. Friday's session kicks off at 5 p.m. while Saturday's events begin at 11 a.m.
