As a Sophomore (2011-12): Boasted top five showings for the Terps in the 100 breast (55.97), 200 breast (2:03.09), and 200 IM (1:51.82)...finished 19th in the 200 breast (2:03:09) at the 2012 ACC Championships...won the 100 breast (56.11) and took sixth and ninth in the 200 IM (1:53.35) and 200 breast (2:04.73), respectively, at the Terrapin Cup.

As a Freshman (2010-11): Maryland's top competitor in the 100 and 200 breast...finished 21st in the 200 IM (1:51.58) at the ACC Championships...took 17th in the 100 breast (56.26) and 19th in the 200 breast (2:03.36)...placed fifth in the 100 breast at the Terp Cup...seventh in the 200 breast.

Before Maryland: Stang was a standout in soccer and lacrosse at Long Reach High School while competing with the Aquatic Club out of Baltimore, under head coach Chris Gibeau.
