As a Freshman (2011-12): Boasted top five times for Maryland in the 100 back (49.61), 100 fly (49.15), 200 fly (1:49.22) and 400 IM (4:25.34)...competed in the 2012 ACC Championships... took 20th in the 100 fly (49.15)...also finished 20th in the 100 back (49.61) and 15th in the 200 fly (1:49.56)...took fifth in the 200 IM (1:53.31), fifth in the 100 back (50.84), and sixth in the 100 fly (50.30) at the Terp Cup.

Before Maryland: Swam for four seasons at Seton Hall Prep under head coach Randy Schweitzer...2-time team captain and team MVP...helped the Pirates compile a 61-7 record in four seasons...2011 Cullen Jones Award, Star Ledger Essex County Swimmer of the Year...five-time Conference record holder and 10-time school record holder...six-time first team All-SEC Conference and 12-time first team All-Essex County...swam club for Somerset Hills YMCA under head coach Peter Barry for five seasons...two-time Scholastic All-American...Short Course and Long Course USA Swimming Junior National Qualifier...also recruited by Louisville, Pittsburgh, Cornell, Indiana.

Personal: Full name is Kyle Johnson Madley...son of Peter Madley and Gail Johnson...hometown is Madison, NJ...chose Maryland because of its great academics and great swimming team...comes from a long line of accomplished swimmers at Seton Hall Prep...a distant relative of President John Adams...plans to make a business career in the sports industry.
