As a Freshman (2010-11): Top five performer in the 50 free for Maryland...finished 44th in his prelim 50 free swim (21.15) at the ACC Championships...also 46th in 100 free (46.64) at his first championships.

Before Maryland: State record holder in 200 medley, 400 medley, and 800 freestyle relays...eight-time National High School All-American...swam for Peddie Aquatic Association.

Personal: Son of Peter and Clare Fittin...father played water polo at Monmouth College...sister is alson on Maryland swimming team...lists biggest sports thrill as winning Easterns...attending Maryland for great swimming and Chinese program...also recruited by Ohio State...majoring in Chinese.
