King Named Academic All-District

Nov. 1, 2007

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Senior Stephen King was named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 Team, announced on November 1. King is now eligible for the Academic All-America team, an honor he earned last year, which will be selected later this month.

King, a finance major, leads the ACC with nine assists and ranks seventh nationally in that category. He has not missed a start since 2004, beginning all 88 matches the Terps have played, and is a team captain for the second-straight year. King currently ranks third all-time in career assists with 29 and his 87 points is sixth. He is a Hermann Trophy nominee and a finalist for the first-ever Lowe's Senior CLASS Award in soccer.

The Medford, N.J. product was named to the ESPN The Magainze/CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team in 2006.

King and classmates Spencer Allen and Aki Kadotani will play their final regular season home match on Saturday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m. when the Terps host No. 14 Virginia. The three seniors will be honored prior to the match.
