College Park, Md. - Former Terp men's soccer standout Dan Califf was part of the 18-man roster, which will represent the United States at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Califf, a first team All-ACC selection last season for the Terps, was a two-year starter on defense for Maryland before opting to make himself eligible for the MLS draft last season. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Galaxy as the sixth pick overall in the MLS Draft. He finished his Terp career with three goals and three assists for nine points. Califf and the USA men's team are 0-2-0 in Olympic play so far, with ties against Cameroon and the Czech Republic. The US team needs a win against Kuwait on Tuesday to advance to the next round.
