COLLEGE PARK, Md.- - Maryland head coach Sasho Cirovski is pleased to announce the signing of Ellis Welker (Sugar Land, Texas) to a letter of intent to play soccer for the Terps' next season. Welker's signing marks the ninth newcomer to the Terps' roster for next season.

A member of the Austin Capitals Under-19 Soccer Club, Welker was a four-year starter at Kempner High School. "Ellis is a very discipline, athletic defender who will compete immediately for playing time in the central defense," commented Cirovski.
