BALTIMORE, Md. - Maryland forward/midfielder Domenic Mediate was among the 48 players selected at the 2005 MLS SuperDraft held Friday afternoon at the Baltimore Convention Center. Mediate was taken by the Columbus Crew with the 23rd overall pick.

Mediate was part of a group that helped Maryland to one of the most successful eras in Terrapin history, winning an Atlantic Coast Conference regular season and tournament title and advancing to three straight College Cup appearances during their stay in College Park.

Over the past two seasons, Maryland has had five players selected in the MLS SuperDraft.

Mediate played both forward and midfield for the Terps during his career, scoring 27 goals and 17 assists (71 points). A two-time All-ACC performer, he was also an Academic All-America honoree as a senior. Mediate scored 13 game-winning goals in his four seasons for the Terps.
