Men's Soccer Unable to Contain No. 2 Ranked Tigers

COLLEGE PARK, MD - Clemson junior midfielder Wojtek Krakowiak scored two goals and junior goalkeeper Josh Campbell totaled six saves and posted his 10th shutout of the season as the second-ranked Tigers handed the 16th-ranked Maryland Terrapins a 2-0 loss on Saturday evening at Ludwig Field.
Krakowiak, the country's fourth-leading scorer, recorded his first goal, 24th of the season, at the 5:02 mark off an assist by junior midfielder Scott Bower. Krakowiak accepted the short pass from Bower and scored from 10 yards out.
Krakowiak would chart his second goal of the evening, his 25th of the season, at the 85:01 mark, as he took the ball and had a wide open run to the goal.
Maryland falls to 11-6 overall, 3-3 in ACC play, while Clemson improves to 17-1 overall, 4-1 in the ACC. Maryland will await the announcement of the pairings for the 1998 ACC Tournament, and hosts Michigan State on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m.
