The Maryland men's and women's track teams will compete at the Prince George's Complex in Landover, Md., on Friday and Saturday, hoping to qualify more athletes for postseason competition.

The meet will be the Terps' final competition before the postseason begins on March 3-4. The women's will look to qualify more of its members for the Eastern Colleges Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships, while the men's team hopes to do the same for the Intercollegiate Association of Amateur American Athletes (IC4A) Championships.

In addition, Maryland will send some athletes to the USA Track And Field Championships on March 3-4.

Four members of the women's team have already qualified provisionally for the NCAA Championships, which are to be held in Fayetteville, Ark., on March 9-10. Senior Vanessa Jones (Olney, Md) has earned a qualifying mark in the high jump, junior Ruth Kura (North Potomac, Md.) has qualified in the weight throw, and sophomores Punnie Chittchang (Mount Airy, Md.) and Lynn Harris (Newark, Del.) have qualified in the long jump. These four will look to improve on their respective provisional qualifying marks, while those who haven't qualified at all yet will look to do so.

The competition begins at 9 a.m. on Friday.
