COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Both men's and women's teams outran the competition in their first home meet of the season, sweeping first place in the Maryland Invitational Track Meet.

The women had an easy day, taking first place with 224 points to Morgan State's 98.

Rounding out the competition were Millersville (80.5), Coppin State (77), and Saint Francis (76.5).

Leading the way for the Terps were junior Dessalyn Jolley (Trenton, N.J.), winning the 100m hurdles (15.35) and 400m hurdles (1:06.37); junior Nikki Webster (Richmond, Va.) taking first in the long jump (17-2 Ohm) and triple jump (37-1 ae); and senior Heather Atkinson (Urbana, Ill.) who won the shot put (39-6) and hammer (152.3 Ohm) and took second in the javelin (109-4 Ohm).

Other winners included:
Junior Stacey Minott (New Rochelle, N.Y.) - 100m dash (12.12)
Freshman Kelly Crowley (Levittown, Penn.) - 1500m run (4:50.61)
Junior Aimee Phillippi (Waldorf, Md.) - 5,000m run (18:15.8)
Sophomore Cathy Porter (Millersville, Md.) - Discus (124-5 Ohm).
Juniors Tesheya Hoist (Rocky Mount, NC), Onome Pela (Cherry Hill, NJ), Nikki Webster and Stacey Minott - 4x100m relay team (47.21)

On the men's side, Maryland won with 151 points to Millersville's 143. They were followed by Coppin State (97), Saint Francis (83), Morgan State (56), and American (1).

The men also brought home several wins:
Senior Ed Hogan (Glenwood, Md.) - 5,000m run (15:12.99)
Junior Asa Heath (Richmond, Va.) - 110m hurdles (14.26)
Sophomore Richard Mahy (Gaithersburg, Md.) - 400m hurdles (55.39)
Junior Matt Green (Etna, N.H.) - 3000m Steeplechase (9:40)
Freshman Mike Hughes (Bowie, Md.) - High Jump (6-6 ae).

Maryland will host its final home meet of the season on Saturday, April 11 at 11 a.m.
