2003 Update:
On Leary: One of the most improved players on the team … had a tremendous preseason according to Dave Cottle … begins his second year at midfield after playing attack his first two years at Maryland … has made great strides in his four years at Maryland … saw increased playing time during his junior campaign … a big, tough, strong player who could contribute this season … equals tallest member of the team at 6-5 (with Jamie Daue)… second lacrosse recruit from Michigan.
As a junior (2002): Played in six games … tallied his first career multi-point game vs. Mount St. Mary’s (2/26), scoring his second career goal and handing out second career assist … saw action in ACC semifinal vs. Duke (4/19), grabbing one groundball … also played against Hobart (2/23), Bucknell (3/12), Delaware (3/16) and UMBC (5/4) … named to the ACC Honor Roll and Maryland Honor Roll for the third year in a row.
As a sophomore (2001): Saw action in three games … picked up first college assist against Air Force (2/24) … also played Mount St. Mary’s (4/25) and UMBC (5/5) … member of the ACC Honor Roll and Maryland Honor Roll.
As a freshman (2000): Played in three games … scored first goal on first college shot against Mount St. Mary’s (2/27) … also scooped up a groundball against Mount St. Mary’s … also saw action against Delaware (3/15), gaining one groundball, and UMBC (5/6) … member of the ACC Honor Roll.
Before Maryland: Lettered in three sports at Detroit Country Day School in Beverly Hills, Mich. … named all-state and All-Midwest as a sophomore, junior and senior and an All-American as a senior … led Bill Zimmer’s team to Michigan state championship as a senior … team captain as a senior ... all-league hockey player as a senior and all-county football player at tight end and defensive end as a senior … served as team captain in ice hockey as a sophomore, junior and senior and as the football captain as a senior.
