As a sophomore (2001): Decorated close defenseman earned USILA and 360Lacrosse.com second team All-American honors … named to the All-ACC team and the ACC All-Tournament team … won the Deckman-Silber Award as the team’s top defenseman … played and started all 16 games … netted first two career goals and added three assists for five points … led the Terps in groundballs with 57 … began the year gathering 12 groundballs against Air Force (2/24) and Denver (2/25) as he was named to the Denver Pioneer Face-Off Classic All-Tournament Team … posted first assist and five groundballs in win at Delaware (3/17) … scored first career goal, which gave the Terps a 1-0 lead against North Carolina (3/24) just 1:54 into the game … assisted Dan LaMonica’s goal against Johns Hopkins (4/14) … grabbed five groundballs against Virginia (4/22) in the ACC semifinals in helping Maryland to the championship game and a spot on the ACC All-Tournament team … added another assist and six groundballs at Mount St. Mary’s (4/25) … scored second goal against UMBC (5/5) in regular-season finale … member of the Maryland Honor Roll.
