Men's Golf Finishes 13th at VCU Shootout
Sept. 29, 2009 MANAKIN-SABOT, Va. - Brendan Tracy shot a team-best 2-over-par 74 Tuesday afternoon as the University of Maryland men's golf team finished 13th at the VCU Shootout at Hermitage Country Club. The Terrapins shot 304 as a team Tuesday and 906 for the entire tournament, 42 over par. Tracy and Andrew Kay tied for the low score on Maryland, as both finished at 227, 11 over par. Tom Hanna III and Sean Brannan were close behind at 229 each to round out the counted scores for the Terps. Donnie Shin finished at 232. Chris Miller played as an individual and finished at 239. UNC Wilmington held off Virginia on the final day to claim the team championship. The Seahawks finished 8 over par to beat the Cavaliers by five shots. Charlotte's Corey Nagy shot the low round of the day, a 2-under-par 70, to rally and beat Wake Forest's Brendan Gielow for individual medalist honors. The Terps now have a week off before traveling to Akron, Ohio, Oct. 12-13 for the Firestone Invitational. TEAM SCORES
