NEW LONDON, N.C. - Sophomore Sean Bosdosh and freshman Ben Warnquist each carded 18-hole season lows and senior Joey Rice tied his season best Friday to lead the Maryland men's golf team in the opening round of the ACC Championship at the par-72, 7,102-yard Old North State Club. Maryland finished the round with a 1-under 287, which is the squad's second lowest round of the spring, and in a tie for sixth with Clemson.

Bosdosh completed the round with a 2-under 70 and is tied for 11th with six other golfers. Warnquist and Rice are tied for 18th after each fired a 1-under 71.

In his first ACC Championship appearance, freshman Jordan Sweet carded a 3-over 75 and is tied for 44th. Senior Sean Brannan finished with a 7-over 79 and is tied for 52nd after the first round of play.

No. 11 Georgia Tech is in first place after wrapping up the first round with an 18-under 270 and leads second place Virginia by six strokes. The Yellow Jackets' Bo Andrews is in a three-way tie for first with fellow Yellow Jacket Ollie Schniederjans and Florida State's Daniel Berger at 6 under.

Second round action begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday with the Terps teeing off at 10:10 a.m. Live scoring is available through TheACC.com with a live webcast beginning at 1:30 p.m.
