Maryland Trails NC State 24-21 At Halftime
Nov. 7, 2009
NC State opened the scoring on a George Bryan 17-yard TD reception from quarterback Russell Wilson.
Maryland answered on the next drive for their first points of the game. Chris Turner went 6-of-7 for 71 yards, including completions of 18 yards to Ronnie Tyler and Adrian Cannon, and Davin Meggett scored from one yard out to even the score at 7-7.
After the Wolfpack regained the lead on a 35-yard pass from Russell Wilson to Donald Bowens, Maryland accomplished something they haven't done in over three years. On fourth-and-six from Maryland's 33, NC State quarterback Russell Wilson dropped back to pass and was intercepted by Wujciak. He returned the interception 70 yards for a touchdown, marking the first interception return for a TD since Oct. 14, 2006.
The Terps gained their first lead of the day with 12:52 left in the half. Turner hooked up with Cannon again for a 20 yard gain to the NC State one, and Turner plunged in on the next play to make the score 21-17.
The Wolfpack regained the lead, 24-21, on a 10 play, 76-yard drive with 5:44 to go in the half.
Turner (knee) and Isaiah Ross (knee) were both injured in the first half and will not return to the game.
